Jessica was born and raised in Mitcham where she is based. She already has extensive childcare experience and has long term goals of continuing to work with children, ideally in an educational or domestic environment. Jessica has worked as a Brownies leader, play worker, after school nanny and babysitter with children aged 3-12 years and is excited to develop her experience further. She is very familiar with the after school routine and is used to providing structure in the form of making meals and snacks, homework help and organising playtime and activities.
Jessica is very sporty and enjoys running and going to the gym. She has also recently begun taking a variety of online courses including money management and a course on the Open University about children's perspective on play and how they view adults.
Jessica has a very supportive, engaging approach to her childcare. Through her brilliant mix of experience, she has learnt the significance of being able to provide structure that runs fluidly alongside parental care whilst ensuring an environment that is both entertaining and allows children to be curious and nurture their skills. We're delighted to have Jessica on board and know she's going to be a fantastic After School Nanny!

Personal Statement

The opportunity of working as an After School Nanny is highly appealing to me because it gives me a chance to have an impact on people’s lives. I love children and working with them as it gives me the chance to make a difference and help them with their growth. For example, during my previous work experience I was given the opportunity to work with primary students through sport. This allowed me to help them learn key things such as throwing, catching and other key skills that they will use for the rest of their lives. This gave me a great sense of achievement as I knew I had built a relationship with the children and helped them learn things that are going to be useful to them for the rest of their lives. As an After School Nanny, I would be given the chance to help guide the children, build a relationship with them and help them with anything they need. This is a rewarding feeling for me and I hope to be given this opportunity.

Personally, I feel I would bring a lot to the role due to both my passion for the job and the experience I have when working with children. I have gained many skills that would be useful throughout my past experiences. These include confidence, leadership, responsibility and many more. These are beneficial skills as they enable me to take charge of the situation and ensure I always maintain control. Whilst these are important, it is also important to me that the children enjoy their time with me and are entertained. I feel I can maintain this balance well.

I would be highly grateful to be given this opportunity and feel that I would be a perfect fit for the job role.
